DEATH OF MR JOSEPH MORRIS.

One. of the oldest and most respected residents' of the Singleton district, in the person of Mr Joseph Morris, of Dunolly, died yesterday morning in the
Dangar Cottage Hospital. The deceased, who had reached the ripe age of 87 years, was born at Bolwarra, West Maitland, and came to Singleton as a child. He lived at Dunolly with out a break for 60. years. Deceased was in the employ of - Patrick Plains Shire Council for several years, having charge of a large number of men, and later he followed farming on his property at Dunolly. He was a member of the old. 4th. Regiment of the Single ton Volunteers, and was one of the few who voluntered for the Soudan campaign but was not accepted. De ceased was a staunch protectionist in the days when free trade and Protection were political battle cries. His wife predeceased him 23 years ago, and he is survived by three sons and four daughters, viz., Messrs Thomas (Corowa), Percy (Sydney), Charles (Dunolly), Mesdames A.G. Underwood (Sydney), W. Turner (Belmont), E. Peters (Redbournborry), and G. Grimes (Gosford). Two sons predeceased him, viz., James and Gordon, the latter beiing killed on active service. The funeral will take place at 2 pm to-morrow from All Saints' Church of England.
