- Obituary: 6 May 1920, Freeman's Journal, Sydney, NSW ; THE LATE MR. TIMOTHY BUCKLEY, LISMORE.
The death occurred on Thursday week of one of the oldest and most highly respected residents in Lismore district in the person of Mr. Timothy Buckley. The deceased was born in County Cork, Ireland, 77 years ago, and came to Australia in '64. He first followed farming pursuits at Shell harbour for 25 years, after which he went to the Richmond, and clearing some land at Lindendale resided there for 30 years. Advancing age compelled him to leave the farm three or four years ago and settle in Lismore, where he could more comfortably pass his remaining days. He bought a house in Cathcart Street and lived there, tended by his daughters, Misses Annie and Josephine Buckley. A very prominent trait in the character of the deceased was his wholesome his hospitality, which verily know no bounds. His wife predeceased him by ten years, as did also three sons and a daughter. He leaves seven daughters and four sons to mourn their loss, viz.:- Mrs. O'Brien (Dunoon), Mrs. Harris (Enoggera), Mrs. Driscoll (Goonellabah), Sister Vitalis (St. Joseph's Convent, Kiama), Sister Agnetius Mary (St. Joseph's Convent,
Bondi), Misses Annie and Josephine Buckley (Lismore), Messrs. James, Michael and John Buckley (Lindendale) and Timothy Buckley (Atherton). He also leaves twenty nine grand-children. He was buried alongside the remains of his wife at Wollongbar on Saturday last, the funeral being largely attended. The Rev. Father. Nichols officiated at the graveside, and in the course of a brief address spoke in glowing terms of the numerous virtues of the deceased and the very high esteem he was held in by all whose fortune it was to know him.

- Obituary: 7 Apr 1910, The Catholic Press,Sydney, NSW; Mrs. Catherine Buckley.
Deep regret was expressed on Tuesday, February 21, when it became known that Catherine Buckley, wife of Timothy Buckley, of Goonellabah, had passed away at the age of 53 years. The news, however, was not altogether unexpected, as Mrs. Buckley had been in declining health for a long time. Mrs. Buckley was a fine type of a charitable Catholic woman, and her ready wit and jovial face will be sadly missed in many at home in Lindenvale where she
was ever ready to go to a neighbour in trouble. She received the last rites of Holy Church from Rev. Father Sullivan, he being a constant visitor, along with Very Rev. Dean Quinn and Rev. Father McGuire, throughout her illness. She was born in Illawarra, and came to the Richmond River with her husband and young family some 20 years ago. The Funeral was attended by a large concourse of mourners from all parts of the Richmond River. She leaves a husband and 13 children to mourn their loss, also a brother, Mr. W. Fitzgerald, of Rous, and three sisters, Mrs. Morrisey, of Rous, Mrs. G. Schreiber, of Lismore and Mrs. McCarthy, of Tamworth.-R.I.P.

ASSAULT.-Hannah Stewart charged John Boy, man of colour, with assaulting her on the 31st Instant. Plantiff is defendant's mother-in-law. On the day in question she went to defendant's home to reprimand him for ill-using her daughter. It appears that defendant would not open the door, whereupon plaintiff, said "Johnny if you are a man, come out and speak to me." The defendant come out-his appearance was the signal for a " free fight" on a limited scale- the plaintiff, the defendant, and another individual taking part in the melee. The case was dismissed.
