SERIOUS ACCIDENT AT NIKENBAH
A girl, aged about 14, named Esther List, residing with her parents an Nikenbah, and who delivers the mail daily, to the surrounding residents on horseback, left home yesterday morning on her usual run. About fifteen minutes later she was picked up in an unconscious state on the roadside by a passer-by. She was taken to Mr. Geo. Pass's store at Nikenbah, and the Maryborough Ambulance communicated with. The girl had bruises on the left leg and hip, and was also suffering from concussion. She was taken to Maryborough and admitted to the general Hospital in an insensible condition. We were informed last night that the girl had sustained severe injuries to the head, was still unconscious, and in a very bad way.The cause of the accident is not exactly known, but it is surmised, she was thrown from her horse.
