      HASTIE-BASSETT.

      At All Saints' Church, Wickham Terrace, Brisbane, on. February 12. the marriage was solemnised of Mr. Thomas Hastie, sixth son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hastie, of Mareeba, North Queensland, and Miss Elsie Bassett, third daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bassett, of St. Peters, Jersey Channel Islands, England. The Rev. R. B. Bates, M.A., performed the ceremony.

      The bride, who was given away by Mr. Ralph Hume Hastie, wore a frock of parchment mariette trimmed with lace, and hat eu suite. She carried a bouquet of Rev. Page Roberts roses and foliage. Miss Edythe Walker was bridesmaid. She wore a frock of shell pink georgette, with hat to tone, and she carried an early Victoriian bouquet of pink gladioli and Countess of Gosford roses. Mr. William Williamson acted as best man.

      At the conclusion of the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at the Jenolan Cafe.

      On leaving for the honeymoon, Mrs. T. Hastie wore a smart two toned frock of crepe de chine, with hat to match.
