      District Development
At this point, which is about eight hmiles from Cathu, the river splits. One branch, to the south, comes from the watershed of Blackrock Creek, at the rear of Mr. Hold's property at the Rise and Shine. Therefore, this is the point where a road could be constructed , to connect with the Riseand Shine area, while a road from Dalrymple would connect with the road near Mr. Hold's and would access to the Barren Creek watershed, in which locality there is more Crown land which could be utilised for dairying, in the vicinity of Mr. Geo. Wittworth's property.

    (From Our Correspondent).
    RISE AND SHINE.
At the top of the road is Hold's farm. They are sending in cream regularly. Mr. Hold, with portion of the family, left here and is now running a dairy farm down Sandy Creek way. Two blocks are run by the Hold family-one by Mrs. Hold and her son and the other by Mr. Hold. We understand the latter block is under offer to a company which intends to turn it into a fibre farm and grow ramie, which is used for the making of rope. If the deal is finalised, as we hope it will, it will mean the establishing of a new industry in this district. Across the road Is Mr. John Gibson's farm. Dairying and pig-raising are carried on. John Is plodding along and making progress.
