    Hauritz-Cornwell
A very, pretty wedding was solemnised in St Phillips' Church of England, Tiaro, on Saturday, June 8. The contracting parties, were Albert Roy, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hauritz, Tiaro, and Doreen Jessie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Cornwell, Redbank, Tiaro. The church was beautifully decorated by the Church of England Ladies' Guild members. The Rev. E. Foote officiated and Mr. Lewis senr., presided at the organ.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was beautifully gowned in white georgette over silver lame, moulded to the figure, and featuring a shirred bodice finished at the neck, with a deep frill of white and silver, caught with orange blossoms. The sleeves featured very high shoulders. The skirt, straight in front, fell in a flowing shirred train
at the back. The veil was of magnificent embroidered tulle, mounted on a halo of tulle and orange blossoms, and fell in a full train. A sheaf of frangipani bridal roses and asters tied with white tulle and ribbon, and entwined with dainty fern was carried by the bride.
The bridesmaids, Misses Rose Hauritz and Peggy Bowden, were gowned in blue and pink coronation crepette, respectively. The frocks were on pin-tucked yokes with full bishop sleeves, and finished at the neckline with a silver posy. The skirts, cut on classical lines, fell into graceful trains. Short veils of matching tulle and lilies of the valley formed their head dress. Their bouquets were of pink roses and pink, blue and cream asters, entwined with fern and tied with blue ribbon and pink tulle.
Miss Viv. Austin made a sweet flower girl, gowned in a dainty frock of pink crepette with puff sleeves and frilled skirt, blue shoes and a short veil of pink tulle mounted on blue forget-me-nots completed her costume. This maid carried a basket of pink carnations clustered in fern and tied with matching ribbon and tulle.
Messrs. Tom and Geoff Cornwell were best man and groomsman respectively.
A reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hauritz. Mrs. R. E. Cornwell was hostess, assisted by Mrs. J. B. Hauritz. Mrs. Cornwell wore a frock of navy amulette, shaded in floral tonings of violet and gold. Mrs. J. B. Hauritz's costume was of navy robe satin with trimmings of white. Both ladies wore matching accessories. The usual toasts were honoured after the cutting of a beautiful three-tier cake made and iced by Mrs. J. B. Hauritz.
On leaving for their honeymoon, which was spent in the south. Mrs. A. R. Hauritz wore a severely tailored gown of navy wool akila and matching accessories.
The bride's dress was made by Miss Downman. and the bridesmaids' by Miss Keating.
