    THOMSEN-WILSON.
    The first wedding to take place in the Kirkdale Methodist Church was solemnised on June 6, when Mr. Noble Thomsen (third son of Mr. aud Mrs, Thomson, Brooweena) was married to Miss Jessie Maud Wilson (sixth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilson, of Birkdale). The Rev. A. C. Tempest (Redland Bay), who, officiated, handed to the bride and bridegroom a Bible as a token of the first wedding to be celebrated in the church. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a cream brocaded silk frock with straight bodice, revealing a deep vest of silk lace, and petalled skirt with underflounce of rich Silk. Her veil of hand embroidered silk tulle was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and arum lilies tied with tulle streamers. Miss Marion Wilson, who attended her sister as bridesmaid, was frocked in deep cream , brocadcd silk, with shirred skirt and coatee bodice ornamented with silk braid. . She carried a bouquet of white roses and daisies, tied with tulle streamers. Little Miss Myrtle Williams (niece of the bride), who attended as maid of honour, wore a cream silk frock inlet with silk insertion. Her hair was arranged with ribbon and tiny lace flowers, and she carried a bouquet of sweet peas tied with tulle streamers. Master Nesbit Silcock (thee bride's nephew) was the small page boy. The bride's mother wore a black crepe de Chine gown, fashioned in bolero effect with vest of mastic crepe de Chine and hat to match. The bridegroom's mother was also gowned in black crepe de Chine, with vest of mastic lace, and a hat to harmonise. Mr. Dick Thomsen carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony, the bride's parents entertained about 45 guests at their residence at Birkdale. On leaving for Hinesville (Murgon district) Mrs. Thomsen wore a travelling frock of wedgwood blue wool Marocain, with coatee and pleated skirt, braided with mastic and worn with a mastic hat. The dresses worn by the bridal parly were the work of Mrs. W. 0. Williams, of Booval (the sister of the bride).
