    • Obituary: 23 Apr 1925, Freeman's Journal, Sydney, NSW; MRS. BRIDGET MURRAY. The late Mrs. Bridget Murray, an old and revered resident of Gunning, and for the past seven years residing with her daughter, Mrs. B. M. Tully, at Lindsay avenue, Burwood, passed away quite suddenly on Tuesday, March 24, while on a short visit to her daughter, Mrs. M. Cotter, Margaret-street, Strathfield. She was in her eighty-eighth year, and up to a couple of hours before her death was in complete possession of all her faculties. Born in County Tipperary, Ireland, she came to Australia with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Commins, when she was three years old. After spending a few years at Sydney, Bathurst, and Wellington, her parents settled on the land in the Yass district when she was seven years old. She remained there until the time of her marriage with the late Mr. Denis Murray, of Violet Hill, Oolong, Gunning, where she lived until the time of her husband's death sixteen years ago. The remaining years of her life she spent with her daughter, Mrs. B. M. Tully, first at Byalla and afterwards at Burwood. By her gentle and genial disposition she endeared herself to a large circle of friends, while her faith and fervor as a devout member of the Catholic Faith edified all who were acquainted with her. She was an assiduous reader of the Catholic newspapers, and took an active interest in everything concerning the Church's welfare up to the day of her death. Her marriage was the first to be celebrated in the Gunning church, and it was her wish that from its sacred precincts she should go to her last resting place. The Requiem Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father Carson, who also officiated at the grave side in the Gunning Catholic cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. Mrs. Murray's death is mourned by six daughters, 23 grandchildren, and 12 greatgrand-children, as well as by many others who had come to know and love her. Her daughters are Mrs. P. Clancy (Mount View, Gunning), Mrs. B. M. Tully (Burwood), Mrs. K. Brain (Strathfield), Mrs. S. Glass (Sianmore), Mrs. W. Pursehouse (Beckom), and Mrs. M. Cotter (Strathfield). Her remains rest beside those of her late husband, Mr. Denis Murray.-R.I.P- Freeman's Journal, Sydney, NSW, Thursday, 23 April 1925 The Catholic Press, Sydney, NSW, Thursday, 23 April 1925
