ILLEGAL OCCUPATION OF LAND.
Mr. Ward, the new Forest Ranger, summoned W. R. J. Collins, of Grahamstown, for that he was in illegal occupation of land on a reserve. Mr. Ward acted on authority from the lands department. The bench said they did not like to act without special authority. The land was regularly taken up at the lands-office, and he (Mr Vyner) thought proceedings should be taken in Sydney, and adjourned the case for one week.
