      DEATH OF MRS. BOURKE
THe late Mrs. Bourke had been a resident in Campsie for 45 years and was well known in that district.
Born in Beechworth (Victoria) over 90 years ago; she travelled as a young girl with her parents by bullock dray from that town to Adelong (N.S.W.) and often related many stirring incidents of her trip and early life in the country.

During her 45 years residence in the Campsie and Belfield area she saw Campsie grow from a small village with scattered homes an open air picture show, small shops and muddy streets to the present thriving suburb.
When she came to Lincoln Street, the present Belfield area was nearly all bushland and farms, Veridels and Bennetts dairies comprising a large extent to the new suburb.
She was especially fond of flowers and always took a keen interest in her garden and the floral tributes from her friends in the district and the good neighbours in Lincoln Street which covered the family grave (at Waverley Cemetery) after the funeral on Monday, February 26, were an appropriate last tribute which her family much appreciated.

A widow for 55 years, the late Mrs. Bourke had five children, two daughters, Vera (Mrs. Brown of Grafton) and Madge, predeceased her.
She is survived by three sons, Will (Lakemba), Fred (Bulli) and Jim (Belfield), 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
