    GOORAH
    (From our own correspondent)
    July 20.
Yesterday, the 19th instant, was practically a holiday among the farmers to this part of the Mary, when many from Greenwood, Greenhouse, Greenland, Olivegreen, Evergreen, and adjacent farms, to the number of about 70, wended their way to Goorah Farm to witness the celebration of the marriage of Peter Christian Andersen, a progressive farmer, to Catherine Maria, eldest daughter of Mr. A. Jessen, of Goorah dairy. The nuptial knot was arranged by Rev J H Hansen, of Maryborough, when all dispersed to enjoy themselves at rounders, skittles, and other games for a while. The guests were called to the marriage feast, where ample justice was done to the viands enticingly laid out by Mesdames Jessen, Wade, and Bundesen.
Three relays having been discussed, an adjournment was made to a spacious new barn where the visitors tripped it merrily till daylight did appear. At intervals the new married couple were toasted, when congratulations and good wishes were expressed for their future welfare, for they are the kind of people who form the backbone of our country, sir, and itis a thousand pities we have not many more of the same kind of steady country farmers, who seem undaunted by floods, droughts, and vermin, and who work themselves up by indomitable energy, and do not wait to be spoon fed by any Government.
