DAYLESFORD
A spring cart and horse, driven by Mr. E. Blampied, rolled down a steep
embankment on the Hepburn road. The cart was smashed to pieces, but the
horse was uninjured. Mr. Blampied escaped with a few braises, while Mr.
D.Rogers. who was riding in the cart, jumped clear before it overturned.
The Country Roads Board has advised that it is willing to commencee the
improvements on the Daylesford to Trentham road if the amount necessary for the work is subscribed in 6 per cent bonds by district investors. Several residents are prepared to subscribe £5,000 towards the project, and a conference of Wodend, Trentham. Daylesford, and Hepburn Progress
Associations will be called to consider the matter at an early date.

MR. E. A. BLAMPIED
Fifty-six years as a church collector of St. Peter's Church was the record of Mr. Emile Auguste Blampied, who died at Daylesford recently. He acted in that capacity each Sunday up to a week before his death. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Sodality and later the Holy Name Society and was always a wonderful influence for good. The deceased was born at Blampied, near Daylesford, in 1867, and had lived in the district all his life. He was one of the oldest and best-known residents of the town. Mrs. Blampied survives him. The funeral, to the Eganstown Cemetery, after a service at St. Peter's Church, Daylesford, was largely attended. Rev. H. Moynihan and Rev. A. J. O'Neill officiated at the church and at the graveside.
